This semester’s classes have officially begun!
The season’s lessons have kicked off as of three o’clock today as our eager new students made their way to the Art Hub
and the Music Hub
Later our first class of kickboxing will take place in the new and improved activities building.
Unfortunately the ongoing renovations mean that the Science Hub is not ready to host classes just yet, but they will begin next week for our future scientists.
It’s great to see so many enthusiastic faces, and we would like to wish all our students the best of luck in their activities!!
Everyone is chipping in today as we go about sprucing the place up ahead of Monday’s classes. There will be painting and scrubbing galore in the space which will become our snazzy Youth Cafe and other areas in the main building will be spick-and-span. We will all have our exercise done for the day for sure. Make sure to bring sunglasses on Monday because you may be blinded by the dazzling shine!
Today the volunteers at The Learning Hub are going to Salesians to gather feedback, with regards to the Youth Cafe, from students there. Yesterday we gathered a crowd of St. Nessan’s students who were very excited about joining the Hub for classes as well as for the Youth Cafe. Kick-boxing, especially, was a very popular choice.
After yesterday’s very successful turnout in St. Nessan’s, we hope to find even more students in Salesians willing to avail of the Youth Cafe. A huge welcome, in advance, to all students joining us in both the Hub and in the Youth Cafe!
We at The Learning Hub had a fantastic crowd of almost a hundred people registering for classes on Thursday evening 18th September from 4pm to 6pm last week.
We would like to express our gratitude to all who attended on Thursday evening and to the volunteers who helped to make the event run as smoothly as possible for all involved. We at the Hub would also like to thank all who registered for their feedback via surveys.
Registration for this autumn’s programs takes place this Thursday, the 18th of September at the Learning Hub.
All parents are welcome to come and sign their kids up for classes at the Science Hub, Art Hub, Music Hub, Film Hub, and Kickboxing Hub.
This year will be a busy one here at the Hub, so classes will be scheduled depending on demand from our users.
Call into the Hub on Thursday to pick up a pastime! The registration open night takes place from 4pm-6pm.
Volunteers of the Learning Hub are off to schools and other youth services to see that students and other young people are motivated with regards to our new Youth Cafe which will be a huge asset to them. We hope to have it up and running by the middle of October and we cannot wait to see all the volunteers in action!
The time of selecting subjects at the Learning Hub approaches!
On Thursday, September 18th, newcomers to the Learning Hub will be invited to register their subjects with us. We look forward to making the process as smooth as possible for all involved. A massive welcome to all newcomers in advance and here’s to a great year!
The Learning Hub is very busy at the moment as the Activities Building undergoes some reconstruction.
A large portion of the building has been gutted and will be transformed into a state of the art youth cafe.
At the moment the space is unrecognisable, but with work almost halfway done the cafe should be ready on schedule.
Big plans have been made for the finished area with a large pizza oven, bean bag space and a shop being incorporated into the new design.
Some of the services planned for the cafe include cookery demonstrations and movie nights.
The cafe will be developed and run with the help of its youth members, and volunteers would be well appreciated.
